Bglobal plc acquires Utiligroup

Wednesday 26th May 2010. This note provides more details about today’s announcement that Utiligroup (comprising Utilisoft Ltd (UK), Utiliserve (UK), and Utilisoft Pty (Australia) is being acquired by Bglobal plc in a transaction which completes its formal ratification in mid-June 2010.

This transaction enables Utiligroup to continue to expand its business as a leading software and services supplier to the energy sector in its existing geographies and beyond, under the umbrella of an established public company.

Utilisoft will continue to develop and deliver software solutions to all energy retailers, meter agents, distribution and wholesale trading market participants in both the UK and Australasia, and will pursue its business objectives and product roadmaps as planned. Utiliserve, established in 2009, will support its existing business and continue to grow in the same vein.

Our customers will see that all existing personnel will continue to serve them, and the only change will be the continued growth in our establishment to support our extensive list of clients. Bglobal plc is fully committed to the existing Utiligroup business plan.

The acquisition provides Utiligroup with a strong platform from which to capitalise on the opportunities, across the world, provided by the move to a low carbon, smart energy future. Bglobal Metering’s market leading position in the UK allied to Utiligroup’s software, data management and service provision capability creates a formidable body of solutions and expertise to meet market demand.

We will contact our customers individually to ensure that all are reassured about the strength of their existing relationship with Utiligroup, and that the future promises an extension of the breadth and quality of our deliverables.
